Job Summary

The Banquet Manager oversees and executes high-profile events, ensuring exceptional guest service and maximum profitability. This key role involves supervising banquet staff, coordinating with kitchen teams, and managing all aspects of event execution from setup to breakdown.

 

The Details

Position Type: Seasonal

Location: Mammoth Hot Springs, Yellowstone National Park

Season Dates: March 24, 2026 to November 18, 2026 (Opportunity to return for winter season based on summer performance and business demand)

Pay: $2,188.00 Bi-weekly

Schedule: Typical schedule is 40+/- hours, 5 days/per week (will include weekends, and holidays)  Schedule will vary based on events and may be required to work extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Oversee execution of assigned banquet events to ensure we are providing excellent guest service in an efficient manner and maintaining maximum profitability. Ultimately responsible for the proper set-up, food and beverage service and breakdown of assigned events. This responsibility includes the onsite supervision and direction of banquet set up staff, servers and bartenders. Communicates and works closely with food and beverage managers, chefs and kitchen staff to ensure seamless delivery to guests.Ensure that all employees working the function maintain appearance and uniform standards and execute their job according to banquet and Xanterra Parks and Resorts® standardsReserve meeting spaces, coordinate, plan and delivery all banquet and group meal requirements for clients.Generate Food and Beverage office correspondence, including pre-set menus and billing information, function prospectii, Banquet Event Orders, interoffice memos and manuals.Interview, select, train, support and mentor the Assistant Banquet Manager.Work with the Sales and Marketing Department and prospective clients regarding weddings, banquets, preset meals, in-house meeting services, business meetings and symposium planning.Supervises the inventory, appropriate storage, movement and maintenance of all B&C equipment.Follow Company and departmental environmental practice to minimize wasted energy and resources.Follow Company and departmental safety practices to minimize risk to self and others.Follow Company and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications

Prior banquet experience preferred.Demonstrated Food & Beverage background preferred.

Commitment to providing excellent guest service.

Interpersonal communication skills.

Organizational and time management skills.

Working knowledge of dining room procedures and systems.

Working knowledge of banquet procedures, systems, service styles, sanitation and safety.

Business communication skills including business and email correspondence.

Computer skills. Familiarity with the following programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

General office skills, including typing, filing, and proper phone etiquette.

Business math skills.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

In-Park travel and overnight stays required. Must be able to travel throughout the park at any hour.

Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.Certification in the ServSafe food safety and sanitation program is required. Workshop will be provided if not currently certified.Certification in the TIPS alcohol awareness program is required. Workshops will be provided if not currently certified. 

Physical Requirements include:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time, 8+ hours.Must be able to sit for long periods of time, 8+ hours.Must be able to walk for long periods of time, 8+ hours.Must be able to lift, carry, load and unload a minimum of 50 pounds.Must be able to lift, bend, stretch and reach for extended periods of time.
