Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms (to include cottages and villas), 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.

What will I be doing?

\n

As a Banquet Captain, you would be responsible for overseeing the pre-event, event and post event activities of all food and beverage, Team Members and guests during banquet functions in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

\n\nSupervise food and beverage service throughout banquet functions to ensure quality service and product quality.\nSupervise and manage all staff associated with the particular event/function.\nAssist with the planning, organizing and execution of all banquet functions including, but not limited to, breakfast, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners, cocktail receptions, galas, etc.\nGreet and welcome client representative and guests, responding to requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.\nParticipate in and lead department meetings.\nProcess banquet checks accurately and efficiently for payment.\nEnsure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service.\nServe alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations.\nSupervising Staff: Directing and motivating banquet staff to ensure efficient service and adherence to service standards, company policies and compliance regulations.\nEvent Coordination: Collaborating with other departments (culinary, event planning) to ensure seamless event execution. \nSetup and Breakdown: Overseeing the proper setup and breakdown of banquet rooms, including furniture, equipment, and table settings. \nGuest Interaction: Greet guests, assist with seating, and ensure guest satisfaction. \nService Supervision: Monitoring servers and ensuring proper service standards are followed. \nInventory and Supplies: Managing banquet supplies and ensuring sufficient inventory. \nQuality Control: Inspecting the cleanliness and presentation of all banquet areas, equipment, china and Team Member Dress Code. \nProblem Solving: Addressing any issues or requests that arise during the event. \nCommunication: Communicating with guests, staff, and other departments to ensure smooth operations. \nTraining and Development: Assisting in training new staff and providing ongoing coaching and guidance. \nSafety and Security: Ensuring all safety and security procedures are followed.\n
