Main responsibilities:

Lead daily bakery department operations, including production planning, merchandising, and staffing Supervise, train, coach, and schedule bakery associates to ensure consistent performance Deliver excellent customer service by assisting customers, answering product questions, and fulfilling special orders Plan daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer demand and sales goals Ensure quality, freshness, and presentation standards are consistently met Maintain inventory levels; order ingredients and supplies as needed Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑stocked bakery environment Monitor department performance and suggest improvements to inventory, pricing, and processes

Competencies: 

Bakery operations management Staff scheduling and workforce planning Quality assurance and food safety compliance Inventory management and ordering Product merchandising and sales promotion Training and performance oversight

Knowledge: 

Bakery production processes (breads, pastries, desserts, and baked goods) Food safety and sanitation standards (federal, state, and local) Use of commercial bakery equipment (mixers, ovens, slicers, etc.) Retail bakery merchandising and customer service practices Basic recordkeeping and inventory tracking

Abilities: 

Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, recipes, and procedures Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
