About our property:

The Hanover Inn has a rich legacy of hospitality stretching all the way back to its humble beginning back in 1780 when the Inn first welcomed guests as a Tavern. Notable guests have included Presidents Monroe, Wilson, F.D.R., Eisenhower, Nixon, and Reagan. George Washington did not sleep at the inn but Booker T. Washington did. What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for someone passionate about the culinary arts to join our Culinary team.  This individual must be creative, motivated, and passionate about growing their talents in the kitchen! 

Successful candidates for this role will have previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, with a strong desire to learn, to develop skills and work with the culinary leadership team to create menus which reflect seasonal availability and concept of the restaurant. 

The Baker assists the Chef in production and fabrication of baked products for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquet cooking, dining room, and fine dining.  The Baker will maintain a passive leadership role in maintaining adequate production level form the Kitchen staff.

What are we looking for?

Your Role:

Follows recipes and/or product directions to prepare items from scratch such as breads, rolls, muffins, biscuits, etc.Places products into correctly prepared pans.Regulates the drafts and temperatures of the ovens.Places items in ovens.Removes baked items from ovens and applies appropriate toppings.May clean and sanitize workstations and equipment.Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.Complies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Active Food handler’s certification or the ability to get it Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shiftsRequires strong organizational skillsMust be able to work independentlyAble to be on your feet for long periods of timeAble to lift at least 50 poundsAt least 21 years of ageHave a desire to exceed expectations
