Job Description A retail company local to Seattle, WA is looking for a Backend Engineer. You will work closely with Product, Program, and Engineering to design, develop and implement the solution that delights our restaurant customers. Their goal is to provide a robust experience for our restaurant employees. You will work closely with engineering teams and support the new point-of-sale system, and rollout new labor management tool across all the Nordstrom restaurant concepts. Skills and Requirements · Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably computer science, or equivalent · 4+ years professional experience in delivering quality software, ideally across the full stack Proficient in developing reliable and scalable solutions · Excellent proficiency in Object-Oriented language, such as Java · Proven track record in Java and Java Spring boot framework · Experience with RESTful architecture and micro-services · Experience with cloud-based services will be a plus (AWS/GCP) · Experience with modern infrastructure tools and pipelines (Github CI/CD, Terraform) · Familiarity with ops tools, logging, and metrics (New Relic, Splunk) · Experience with messaging technologies and patterns (Kafka/SQS) · Test automation experience at all levels (Unit, Integration, Regression, Load) · Good communication skills (verbal and written)
