Job Description
As a Collections Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maximizing cash receipts through strategic collection activities. Your efforts will involve managing both inbound and outbound collection calls, addressing overdue accounts, and coordinating with various teams to resolve credit risks and disputes.
Responsibilities
Receive and manage inbound and outbound collection calls.Contact customers regarding overdue accounts and determine reasons for non-payment.Monitor payment commitments and follow up with customers as needed.Analyze and inform sales, district sales manager, and credit & collections manager of credit risks.Research and recommend initial credit lines.Partner with the sales team to resolve disputes.Communicate with sales and supervisors about top outstanding accounts.Research credits and communicate findings to customers.Coordinate customer credit changes with the credit manager.Communicate accounts being shifted to a collection agency to managers.Communicate bad debt write-offs to managers.Maintain accurate records of customer payment status.Ensure customer accounts reflect accurate data.Minimize bad debt write-offs through proactive collection activity.Ensure company objectives for DSO targets are met through effective account management.Handle cash application tasks as assigned.Essential Skills
Experience in collections, accounts receivable, and customer service related to collections.Proficiency in collection calls and reconciliation.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Intermediate PC skills, including word processing, data entry, and data retrieval.Analytical skills for managing complex or diverse information.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues timely.Customer service skills to manage customer situations effectively.Professional demeanor and ability to work well under pressure.Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.Experience with Windows environment and MS Office software (Outlook, Excel).Familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.Team-oriented with a desire to achieve excellent results.Work Environment
You will work in an office setting alongside the accounts receivable team, with your own cubicle space. There is an option to work remotely on Fridays, providing a flexible work arrangement.

This is a contract to hire position based out of Akron, Ohio.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
