Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
The AWS DevOps Support L2 Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day cloud operations, deployment support, pipeline troubleshooting, environment stability, monitoring and incident handling. This role acts as an escalation point above L1, supports production workloads, collaborates with L3 for deep-tech issues and focuses on maintaining platform uptime with automation and process discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Incident Resolution & Operational Support
Handle L2 support tickets related to AWS services, CI/CD failures, container issues and infra alerts.
Troubleshoot build failures, deployment errors, service unavailability and scaling issues.
Conduct initial RCA, document findings and escalate complex issues to L3 when required.
Participate in support rotations, ensure SLA compliance and timely ticket closures.
AWS Cloud Support
Manage and support AWS components: EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, IAM, RDS, ECS/EKS basics, CloudWatch.
Perform routine maintenance tasks like patching, snapshot management, resource cleanup.
Implement small configuration changes, provisioning requests, and environment fixes.
Assist in DR drills, backup validation and compliance checks.
CI/CD Support
Monitor and support CI/CD jobs for applications and infrastructure deployments.
Debug common pipeline failures, artifact upload problems, stage approvals & rollbacks.
Manage build triggers, webhooks, environment variables and pipelines in Jenkins/GitHub/GitLab/CodePipeline.
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
Work on IaC tasks under guidance using Terraform / CloudFormation.
Contribute to small feature enhancements, template updates and configuration fixes.
Automate operational tasks via shell/python scripting where applicable.
Monitoring & Observability
Monitor infrastructure and application metrics using CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus etc.
Respond to alerts, analyze log patterns using CloudWatch Logs/ELK.
Assist in tuning alerts, building dashboards and reducing noise.
Security & Governance
Implement IAM user/role changes, policy updates and permissions review.
Follow patching schedule, encryption policies and backup compliance standards.
Assist in vulnerability remediation, security findings tracking & closure.
Behavioural Competencies :
Proven experience of delivering process efficiencies and improvements
Clear and fluent English (both verbal and written)
Ability to build and maintain efficient working relationships with remote teams
Demonstrate ability to take ownership of and accountability for relevant products and services
Ability to plan, prioritize and complete your own work, whilst remaining a team player
