Job Title: Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Finance

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interim Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Finance to support the organization during a critical transition period. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in full-cycle accounting, financial management, and organizational financial operations. This role is essential to ensuring the financial stability, efficiency, and strategic direction of the company.

Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the full cycle accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and internal controls.Prepare and present financial statements, budget reports, and financial forecasts to senior leadership and key stakeholders.Lead and manage the company’s annual budget process, including development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring.Provide strategic financial guidance and support to departments and business units.Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion of audit requirements.Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.Contribute to strategic planning initiatives and provide financial analysis to support executive decision-making.Monitor cash flow, investments, and debt management to maintain organizational financial health.Conduct financial risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risk exposure.Oversee grant, contract, or funding management and ensure proper allocation, reporting, and compliance.Collaborate closely with other administrative or operational departments to streamline financial processes and support overall organizational effectiveness.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.Demonstrated experience in full-cycle accounting and financial management.Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision‑making abilities.Proficiency in financial systems and software, including ERP platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.Proven leadership experience and team management capabilities.High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.Experience with grant, contract, or funding compliance is a plus.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Skills

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
