Purpose:
The ideal candidate combines strong technical modeling capabilities with effective communication skills and the flexibility to contribute across a wide range of capital-related projects in a fast-paced environment.
Accountabilities:
Capital Planning & Analysis
Develop and maintain capital projections across multiple legal entities and bases (e.g., Bermuda, U.S. Statutory, consolidated views)Analyze drivers of capital movements, including earnings, market impacts, dividends, contributions, reinsurance, and transactionsDrive quarterly and annual capital reporting, including variance analysis and management commentaryModeling & Technical Analysis
Build and enhance capital and balance sheet models to support business planning, stress testing, and strategic decision-makingDrive scenario analysis and stress testing in collaboration with Risk and Actuarial partnersDrive capital optimization analyses, including implications of new business, asset allocation changes, and strategic transactions.Regulatory, Rating Agency & Framework Support
Own capital management under relevant regulatory and rating agency frameworks (e.g., Bermuda EBS, VM-22, aggregation methods)Drive analysis of evolving regulatory and rating agency requirements and assess impacts on the firm’s capital positionContribute to materials and analyses used in discussions with regulators and rating agenciesExecutive Reporting & Presentations
Prepare clear, concise presentation materials for senior management and executive audiencesTranslate complex modeling outputs into actionable insights and recommendationsSupport Board- and executive-level capital reporting as neededSpecial Projects & Cross-Functional Support
Drive ad hoc and strategic projects related to capital management, transactions, reinsurance, and enterprise initiativesPartner with Finance, Investments, Risk, Actuarial, Treasury, and other stakeholders to support enterprise-wide objectivesDrive process improvements, automation, and enhancements to capital analytics and reporting infrastructureThought leadership on capital management framework, policies and procedures, upcoming regulatory changes
Qualifications and Experience:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Math, Actuarial Science, Economics, or a related fieldCPA, CFA, MBA, ASA/FSA strongly preferredExperience
8+ years of experience in insurance, reinsurance, asset management, or financial services, with exposure to capital management, financial modeling, or actuarial/finance functionsExperience supporting capital projections, balance sheet analysis, or regulatory capital frameworks preferredExposure to Bermuda EBS, VM-22, US aggregation method, or similar capital regimes is a strong plus.Skills & Competencies
Strong financial and capital modeling skills, with advanced Excel proficiencyAbility to synthesize complex quantitative analysis into clear executive-level messagingExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsHighly analytical, detail-oriented, and intellectually curiousFlexible and adaptable, with the ability to work across a variety of projects and prioritiesStrong collaboration skills and comfort working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment$172,298.40 - $258,447.60 USD Annual
Annual Salary for this role is market competitive. Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
