A Typical Day The Assistant Vice President of Business Analytics will help define and implement a data and analytics strategy, driving data-driven decision-making across multiple departments. Primary responsibilities include translating complex business challenges into analytical roadmaps and delivering actionable insights that directly impact strategic goals, operational efficiency, and financial performance. Strategic Leadership & Vision + Help define and champion the vision, strategy, and roadmap around key business data assets, including storage, reporting and analytics. + Collaborate with executive leadership to identify and prioritize key business questions that can be answered through data analysis. + Serve as the primary advocate for data literacy and a data-first culture across the organization. Team Management & Development + Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of data analysts, data scientists, and business intelligence specialists. + Manage resource allocation across multiple simultaneous analytical projects to maximize business impact. + Establish rigorous quality standards for all analytical deliverables, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Data & Technology + Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's reporting and analytics infrastructure, including data warehouses, BI platforms, and analytical tools. + Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, data quality, and documentation to ensure integrity and compliance. + Drive the adoption of advanced analytical techniques, such as predictive modeling, machine learning, and optimization, to uncover future opportunities and risks. Business Insight & Action + Translate raw data into clear, compelling, and actionable business narratives for senior leadership. + Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and build executive-level dashboards and reports to track business health and project success. + Partner with operational teams (e.g., Marketing, Finance, Product) to embed analytical insights into their daily workflows and processes. What You’ll Bring Required Qualifications + Education: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or Mathematics. An MBA or Master’s degree in a related field is highly preferred. + Experience: 5 years of progressive experience in business analytics, data science, or a related field + Technical Expertise: Deep expertise in SQL and working with large, complex datasets. Proficiency in advanced analytics and statistical modeling tools (e.g., Python, R, SAS) and Business Intelligence platforms (e.g., Sigma, Tableau, Power BI). + Leadership: Proven experience in building, managing, and scaling high-performing analytics projects. + Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical executive stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications + Experience in the Mortgage or Finance, preferred + Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure). + Experience driving organizational change through the implementation of new data strategies and tools.
