How you will create an impact We are looking for an experienced candidate who will support the department head and be responsible for the Auto and Personal Property lines of business within Malaysia with ownership of key outcomes, that includes the management of underwriting, governance, portfolio management, and working the eco-system from managing stakeholders to implementing processes to achieve the desired top and bottom line results. Key focus areas: + Responsible for entire underwriting performance with respect to topline, profitability and loss ratio. + Implement and execute on underwriting growth/corrective actions, best practices and guidelines to ensure quality underwriting, risk selection, rating and pricing adequacy. + Apply and adhere to framework of Underwriting Authority and manage within the delegation of authority. + Review new and renewal underwriting referrals and provide timely approval or modifications. + Responsible for developing, updating and improving underwriting guidelines, policies and procedures, referral process and ensuring compliance with the latest regulatory requirements. + Responsible for the operational execution of the underwriting process, including managing system enhancements, claims/service levels, customer satisfaction indicators, and fulfillment process. + Ensure compliance to peer reviews and support all relevant audits. Jointly develop and support implementation of action plans with key stakeholders based on audit recommendations and findings. + Support and lead the development of new products and/or product enhancements. What you’ll need to succeed + Relevant people management experience in insurance preferably with expertise in Auto and Personal Property underwriting and portfolio management. + Passionate leader with strong relationships with customers and intermediaries and ability to manage a broad range of stakeholders. + Proven Strategic Leadership skills in developing vision and purpose, driving for results and leading effective teams. + Understands the Auto and Personal Property business model and underwriting methodology, with knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition and distribution. + Demonstrated business savvy, analytical and quantitative skills.
