Avionics Technician

Responsibilities\n•\tFabricate and assemble avionics components and install on ship to include wire harnesses, data acquisition units (DAU), and sensors \n•\tAssist in supporting the manufacturing team in installation, design, development, and testing of parts and technologies used on aircrafts or in space exploration \n•\tAdhere to set directions and guidelines from team leader to support collaboration across teams to complete project\n•\tProvide input of technical and operational knowledge in the assessment and repair/maintenance recommendations in support of the program assigned\n•\tWork on manufacturing assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations\n•\tEnsure quality and efficiency of installations, including troubleshooting and may provide guidance in troubleshooting processes and concepts \n•\tAdhere to assembly instructions to ensure accurate completion of complex project assemblies \n•\tContinuously practice safety behavior and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness/prevention; adhere to regulatory protocols and rules\n•\tWork collaboratively to achieve goals and/or complete assigned tasks\n•\tRequired Skills and Experience\n\nSHIFTs:\n2nd Shift 4pm – 2:30am Thurs – Sun \n\nOT SITUATION:\n-Possibility but not guaranteed \n\nCONTRACT DETAILS:\n- 6 month contract with the ability to go on permanent based on attitude, performance and attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:\n•\tHigh School Diploma or equivalent \n•\tMinimum of three years of experience with aircraft fabrication and assembly required or equivalent industry \n•\tExperience with aircraft wire harness fabrication and installation as well as LRU build up and installation.\n•\tDemonstrated ability to use computer applications to follow manufacturing work instructions \n•\tAbility to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and/or models on paper or digital\n\nPreferred Skills and Experience\n•\tKnowledge of applying current manufacturing practices and willingness to learn cutting edge spacecraft manufacturing techniques and /or Airframe & Power plant (A&P) training preferred\n•\tDemonstrate willingness to adjust thinking and behavior\n•\tKnowledge of providing quality repairs of malfunctioning systems\n•\tAbility to collaborate on technical projects with fellow technicians, or interdepartmental functions to achieve goals or solve problems \n•\tAbility to communicate in a manner that is timely, respectful, and open to other ideas\n•\tKnowledge of lean manufacturing philosophies and tools a plus \n•\tAbility to get into the details, while maintaining a broader view \n•\tStrong safety forward thinking, practice good housekeeping, tool control, recognizing the importance of properly handling hazardous materials, and chemicals\n•\tAbility to lift up to 50 pounds\n•\tFamiliar with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
