**Job Title: Aviation Ordnance Technician**
Job Description
The Aviation Ordnance Technician will be responsible for Organizational Level ('O' level) support of all the F-18 E/F aircraft's ordnance systems. This includes understanding pre and post-flight activities and inspections, and performing maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, equipment, drop tanks, pylons, components, and systems in accordance with all applicable directives.
Responsibilities
+ Understand pre and post-flight activities and inspections.
+ Perform maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft and related equipment.
+ Read and interpret assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, and written instructions.
+ Setup and use a torque wrench and common hand tools such as wrenches and safety wire pliers.
+ Conduct preventive maintenance and test bomb racks, missile launchers, rocket launchers, handling equipment, loading equipment, and aircraft guns.
+ Understand basic aviation theory and skills, along with electronic troubleshooting.
+ Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical weapons and ordnance systems on aircraft.
+ Service ammunition and launch systems.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems encountered.
+ Provide technical advice, training, and troubleshooting assistance to 'O' Level technicians.
+ Generate written reports for management in support of contractual obligations as required.
Essential Skills
+ At least 3 years of F/A-18 E/F experience.
+ Familiarity with F/A-18 inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, removals, and repairs.
+ Active secret DOD clearance.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of all aircraft ordnance systems aboard the aircraft.
+ Familiarity with IETM’s, as well as the NAMP 4790 and applicable NAVAIR technical publications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and specifications.
+ Experience in generating written reports for management.

Work Environment
Work will support a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program in New Orleans, LA, at the NAS Joint Reserve Base. The position is non-deployable, with one role supporting the first shift and another supporting a dedicated night shift.

This is a Contract position based out of New Orleans, Louisiana.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
