Position Overview

A manufacturing facility in Naples, FL is seeking an experienced Automation Technician to support and enhance automated production systems. This role involves electrical panel fabrication, PLC troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and hands‑on involvement in automation processes. Candidates should be technically strong, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and wire industrial electrical panels and enclosures.Perform tasks related to automation processes, including equipment setup, calibration, and improvements.Diagnose, troubleshoot, and modify PLC programs as needed.Test and troubleshoot electrical systems, motors, drives, and control components.Retrofit motors, drives, and automation hardware during system upgrades.Perform basic maintenance tasks on facility and production equipment.Work concurrently on multiple automation and maintenance projects.Required Knowledge & SkillsStrong mechanical knowledge of machines, tools, and maintenance procedures.Solid math skills including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and statistics.Strong electrical understanding, including AC/DC wiring principles.Knowledge of engineering concepts, automation systems, and manufacturing technology.PLC programming experience is required.Experience with any of the following is highly preferred:Rockwell Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, RS LinxAutomation Direct (Productivity Suite, Click, C‑More HMI)Delta programmingMaple Systems EasyBuilder Pro HMISolidWorksKeyence LS‑Navigator or Zumbach controlsStrong troubleshooting, critical‑thinking, and time‑management abilities.Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings (AutoCAD experience is a plus).Physical RequirementsAbility to lift 50 lbs and occasionally push up to 100 lbs of equipment.Ability to stand, walk, and work overhead for extended durations.Comfortable working around moving machinery and heated equipment.Preferred Experience5+ years of experience in manufacturing, automation, or maintenance.Technical degree or certification in automation, electronics, mechatronics, or a related field (preferred but not required).Ideal Candidate TraitsHighly motivated with a desire to learn and grow in automation.Strong communicator who works well across departments.Excellent work ethic, reliability, and commitment to quality.
