Automation Technician
**Job Title: Automation Technician** **Job Description** An esteemed glass manufacturing facility is seeking an Automation Technician to join its maintenance department. This role is a long-term contract aimed at maintaining operational efficiency and facilitating the eventual shutdown of the location in December 2026. The position operates on a 1st shift, with hours from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, and offers opportunities for overtime. **Responsibilities** + Perform electrical troubleshooting in the assigned manufacturing area, including programming and troubleshooting PLCs, Servos, and robotics to eliminate downtime. + Manage machine vision systems effectively. + Collaborate with team members to complete continuous improvement activities using Six Sigma methodologies. + Assist in HMI troubleshooting, upgrading, and installation. + Execute project work including robot upgrades, PLC upgrades, and equipment upgrades as required. + Fulfill other duties as assigned by management. **Essential Skills** + Demonstrated experience in manufacturing maintenance and electrical troubleshooting. + Proficiency in mechanical maintenance and control circuit operations. + Expertise in programming and automation systems. + Knowledge of controls engineering, particularly Fanuc and pneumatics. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Applicable degree and/or an associate degree with 8+ years of experience handling complex automation equipment. + Strong technical knowledge to program controls, preferably using Modicon controls. + Experience with Six Sigma for process improvement is preferred. + Knowledge of glass cutting, edging, and bending for the automotive industry is beneficial. + Effective communication skills to interact with operators, peers, management, and vendors. + Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve mechanical problems, organize and share information. + Capacity to work independently and manage projects within established timelines. **Why Work Here?** This position offers a high pay rate for 27 months, providing a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while contributing to significant operational goals. It involves working within a downsized maintenance department, currently composed of 20 technicians. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Crestline, Ohio. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $70.00/hr.
