**Now hiring an Automation Technician in Hagerstown, MD!** **Shift: 1st shift 7am-4pm Monday-Friday** **Pay Rate: $40-$43/hour** **Job Description** The Automation Technician role primarily involves creating, modifying, and troubleshooting PLC and HMI programs. Additionally, the technician will troubleshoot control systems and assist with tasks typically performed by an electrician. Responsibilities also include making programming backups and executing preventive maintenance as needed. **Responsibilities** + Create, modify, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs. + Troubleshoot control systems and assist with electrician tasks. + Make programming backups and execute preventive maintenance. + Perform safety, performance, and efficiency tests on equipment using electrical hand tools and measuring devices. + Select, install, configure, and calibrate instruments and devices. + Perform electrical and controls layouts, updates, and create electrical drawings using CAD or other electrical drawing software. + Commission and tune variable frequency, vector, and servo drives, integrating them into the PLC and HMI. + Train maintenance and operations teams on new systems and update LOTO and SOP information. + Develop standard work plans for the setup and calibration of control devices. + Maintain a clean work area and follow all safety regulations, actively participating in plant safety programs. + Execute automation projects by optimizing existing instrumentation and adding additional controls as needed. + Identify parts needed for automation improvement projects and coordinate procurement through purchasing. **Why Work Here?** Joining the company provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a new venture from the ground up, working with state-of-the-art equipment in a newly renovated space.
