The Automation & Electrical Technician works within a design office specializing in water treatment. Under the supervision of a Project Manager or an Operations Manager, they are responsible for the design, optimization, and reliability of automated and electrotechnical systems.
Main Responsibilities
· Analyze the client’s specifications
· Contribute to defining and sourcing the automation architecture
· Participate in detailed studies and sourcing of the electrotechnical components
· Implement input/output lists
· Design, organize, and structure the program according to company standards
· Interpret and code the functional analysis prepared by the process teams
· Draft technical sheets
· Develop or modify supervision systems
· Perform program tests on the platform
· Carry out FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) at the panel builder’s site
· Conduct QA/QC tests on skids in the workshop
· Verify control-command electrical diagrams
· Power up PLCs and instruments
· Perform synchronization tests at client sites
· Configure instruments, frequency converters, and rectifiers
· Participate in commissioning tests in collaboration with the Commissioning Engineer
· Assist in tuning process controllers
· Sign test protocols
· Report activity progress within the project
· Provide operator training
· Manage technical documentation (as-built documentation)
· Provide technical support during the project warranty period
· Diagnose malfunctions in automated or electrotechnical systems
· Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated and electrotechnical equipment
· Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams
· Comply with and apply required administrative obligations
Quality :
· Ensure customer satisfaction regarding service quality
· Implement corrective, preventive, and continuous improvement programs
· Use methodological tools
· Ensure compliance with the applicable ISO standard
· Drive improvements in maintenance and operations procedures to enhance equipment reliability and optimize operating costs
Safety :
· Comply with the requirements of the current MASE standard
· Participate in general and specific risk analyses
· Report any important safety-related information
· Use the safety prevention and protection measures provided
· Apply proper safety practices before any intervention
Environment :
· Comply with the requirements of the applicable ISO standard
· Follow and support energy-saving initiatives
Skills
· Proficiency in programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
· In-depth knowledge of electrotechnical systems
· Strong understanding of control principles (PID) and instrumentation
· Ability to read P&ID diagrams and functional analyses
· Good communication skills
Software
· Microsoft Office (Excel – advanced level minimum)
· Windows environment
· Schneider, Siemens (TIA Portal, STEP7), Rockwell, Archestra, InTouch
Mobility
· Occasional national and international travel
