Job Title: Bakery Operator

Job Description

The Bakery Operator is responsible for operating various pieces of equipment in the production and packaging processes. The role involves coordinating a team of Bakery associates to support the production line, and the operator will be trained by a subject matter expert to proficiently run select equipment. Responsibilities include managing weights, settings, packaging quality, speeds, labels, and ingredients, while ensuring compliance with specification sheets. Operators must alert Management of any safety or quality issues, and must not operate unsafe equipment.

Responsibilities

Follow all safety, GMP, and quality policies and regulations.Monitor all areas to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications.Assist with training and cross-training as needed.Provide break rotations and lunches to employees as necessary.Continuously learn all product requirements to ensure proper production.Maintain cleanliness in all areas of responsibility during and after production runs.Monitor finished product quality to eliminate defects and increase throughput.Communicate effectively with Bakery team members and supervisors to resolve challenges and improve efficiencies.Perform routine safety checks to ensure a safe workspace.

Essential Skills

High School Diploma or GEDMust be 18 years or olderProficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding basic EnglishAbility to work overtime and weekends if neededCapability to lift and push/pull up to 50 lbs continuously throughout the dayAbility to stand for 8–12 hours per shiftExperience in performing repetitive tasks such as bending, stooping, twisting, and reachingFamiliarity with environments with varying temperatures and noise levelsMust wear non-slip (oil/water-rated) safety shoesAdherence to PPE and GMP guidelinesMinimum 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing or related environmentFamiliarity with food processing and packaging equipmentHigh mechanical aptitude demonstrated through prior work experienceBasic troubleshooting skillsExperience with GMPs, Food Safety, and Company Safety policiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to take direction from managementEffective communication skillsAbility to read and understand machine manuals, SOPs, and production ordersBasic math skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in the manufacturing industry, especially in food handling and preparationExperience with production, general labor, and warehouse production tasks

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
