Autobody Technician

Job Description

Join a dynamic team where you'll perform a variety of tasks, from prepping surfaces through sanding and grinding to conducting paint preparation for body repairs. You'll dismantle damaged equipment, replace parts, repair scratches and dents, and contribute to final re-assembly and paint operations before equipment leaves the shop. The projects involve working on campers, boats, buses, trucks, and trailers, offering a diverse and non-repetitive work environment.

Responsibilities

Perform prep work including sanding, grinding, and paint preparation for body repairs.Disassemble damaged equipment and replace parts.Repair scratches and dents on hoods and other body parts.Train in blasting and painting operations.Complete final re-assembly and paint operations on equipment.Adapt to a variety of projects involving different types of vehicles and equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Body shop repair experience preferred, but not required.Industrial or automotive painting experience preferred, but not required.Keen eye for detail to identify scratches, dents, and paint inconsistencies.Experience working on vehicles or heavy equipment, which can include assembly, farm work, automotive shop, body shop, military, or hobby projects like racing and vehicle restoration.

Work Environment

Work from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, totaling 40-45 hours per week, with no weekends required. Training is provided for new projects, and employees will work independently once they are comfortable. Expect to dress in a T-shirt and jeans for most tasks, with a full suit required for painting operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Fargo, ND.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.
