Job Description
As an Audit Manager II, you will play a key role in the success of our Payments Centre of Excellence (COE) for internal audit as part of our broader technology audit function.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Audit Payments COE
Review and influence the scope of operational audits covering payments-related processes to ensure adequate audit coverage.Advise audit teams as the subject matter expert during execution of audits involving payment processes.Maintain the coverage strategy and historical coverage for payment products and rails (e.g. wires, digital payments, electronic fund transfers, bill payments etc.) across all lines of businesses and regions.Continuously monitor emerging technologies, regulatory developments, industry trends, and leading practices to enhance and inform audit coverage strategy.Audit Execution – Payments and technology audits
Manage assigned audit engagements throughout all phases: planning, testing, and reporting.Understand end-to-end processes and develop process maps (system and data flows) to highlight key risks and controls.Develop test scripts to assess control design, operating effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.Develop and review working papers that document test results in line with TD's Global Audit Methodology and IIA standards.Prepare high-quality, clear, and concise audit reports with findings, root cause analysis, and actionable recommendations.Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Over 7 years of relevant audit experience in a large organization or consulting firm with undergraduate degreeProfessional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIA, and CISA are preferred.Strong knowledge of payment systems, banking operations, and related regulatory frameworks (e.g., FINTRAC, NACHA, OFAC, FFIEC etc.).Good understanding of audit methodology, sampling, controls testing, risk assessment techniques, and the three lines of defense model as applied in the financial services industry.Excellent communication (both verbal and written), analytical, and project management skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong team leader who can negotiate and influence with various stakeholders and team members.Depth & Scope:
Contributes to the Audit planning process for specific businesses/ functional units, including audit plans, resource requirements and budgetsHas overall responsibility for completion of audits. Plans and leads audits and oversees staff working on multiple audits, forming conclusions, communicating scope/findings to business line.Performs testing of critical areas of audit. Performs review of audit documentation. Oversees findings follow up and issue validation.Ensures audits are executed and completed in accordance with established standards and within prescribed time, budget and scope parameters to ensure deadlines are metOversees a small to medium sized team assigned to a given audit and provide coaching and feedback on performance throughout the auditEvaluates internal and external risks for assigned business lines and/or functions utilizing their subject matter expertise.Acts as primary contact with management regarding audit scope, findings and status
