A well-established California law firm is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate with 5–9 years of experience to join its expanding Labor & Employment practice. The group has a strong reputation for handling complex employment litigation, high-profile workplace investigations, and providing traditional labor law services. Attorneys in this practice provide counsel, conduct investigations and training, manage employee relations and negotiations, and represent clients in litigation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings.
The ideal candidate will play a major role in representing private and public employers in a wide range of employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims, as well as labor relations issues. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Represent employers in employment litigation, including trial and arbitration matters
Draft motions, pleadings, legal memoranda, EEOC position statements, and DFEH responses
Take and defend depositions, manage discovery, and conduct witness interviews
Advise clients on compliance with federal and state employment laws, including ADA/FEHA, FMLA, CFRA, PDL, wage and hour laws, and COVID-related regulations
Assist in labor relations matters, including grievances, arbitrations, negotiations, MMBA compliance, and PERB/NLRB proceedings
Conduct investigations, provide training, and counsel management on employment and labor law issues
QUALIFICATIONS:
J.D. from an accredited law school and active California Bar membership
5–9 years of substantive employment litigation experience
Experience in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, FLSA, and wage/hour claims, including class and collective actions
Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of California employment law and labor relations regulations
Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment
