Purdue University Fort Wayne is currently seeking a full-time on-site Athletic Trainer in our Athletics department. This position works with the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine, the athletic training staff, and team physicians to deliver a high level of athletic health care for division one intercollegiate athletes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Evaluation of acute and chronic athletic injuries Assist team physicians in athletic injuries. Maintain ATR and workspace cleanliness. Develop and implement injury prevention strategies. Acute treatment of athletic injuries. Implement emergency action plans, as needed. Appropriately apply therapeutic modalities to student-athletes. Develop and execute injury-specific rehabilitation plans. Assist with supply inventory and ordering, as needed. Assist with men's basketball insurance claims, as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Athletic Training or a related field. MAT & 0–1-year experience in sports medicine, physical therapy and/or athletic training. NATA-BOC certification and Indiana Athletic Training License, Indiana Physical Therapy License if employee has Physical Therapy degree. Must be able to carry and lift coolers of ice, water, and medical equipment. Weekend availability. Travel as necessary Must have a valid driver’s license and remain in compliance with the Purdue University Motor Vehicle Records Check policy.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

A MAT/BA/BS degree from a CAATE accredited athletic training education program.
