Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Associate Test Engineer – Level 1 to join our team in Dulles, VA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

  

This Associate Test Engineer Role is specifically to support Electronic Ground Support Equipment design and test for all required support for Spacecraft manufacturing during Integration and Test. This position will work with clear guidance from leadership, in support of spacecraft systems engineering and manufacturing teams to establish test requirements and methodologies for test hardware manufacturing. Daily use of various software tools and configuration management processes to be used in the creation of customer requirement compliant drawings and other test media development shall be expected. A team environment is prevalent in daily operations; ownership of assigned projects and innovative thinking and collaboration will be a constant consideration and expectation. 
 

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

In this job, you will:

Plans and arranges the equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. 

Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. 

Support of internal customer electronic ground support equipment design, test and technical support. 

Documenting in configuration management all required new drawings, drawing modification and process improvements for the manufacturing and design of EGSE. 

Daily use of various tools like MS Visio, Project, Excel, and Word will be expected in the performance of the duties. 

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with 0 years of professional experience.   

No clearance required to start

Strong attention to detail, analytical troubleshooting abilities, and excellent communication skills.  

Familiarity with programming languages like Java, Python, DSS 

Practical experience with spacecraft or avionics testing systems in a manufacturing environment. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

Costpoint or SAP inventory and parts authority entry process knowledge 

NASA J standard/IPC-670 certification 

4 years of spacecraft or aviation test experience 

LabView/Linux/SQL and other S/W debugging tools. 

1 year of experience with NASA metrology compliance for certified and calibrated test equipment

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards 

Primary Level Salary Range: $69,400.00 - $104,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
