Role overview
We are seeking a senior epidemiologist to join Global Medical Affairs (GMA) to drive Real‑World Evidence (RWE) planning and execution. You will provide high‑quality epidemiologic input across integrated evidence planning, study design and operational execution, and drive the identification and translation of key RWE research questions into clear scientific evidence output for internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Provide epidemiologic leadership for selected RWE projects: contribute to study designs, review and/or draft statistical analysis plans, and ensure robust methods and inference. -Drive operational execution: coordinate with cross‑functional partners (Medical Affairs, Data Science, Market Access, R&D, Global Safety) and external partners (CROs, academic collaborators) to deliver on timelines and quality. Promote epidemiologic best practice: advise teams on Good Pharmacoepidemiology Practices (GPP), data source selection (registries/real‑world databases), and methodological approaches to improve study quality.
Who you are — qualifications and experience
MSc or PhD in Epidemiology, Public Health, Life Sciences or equivalent. Substantial applied experience in pharmacoepidemiology / RWE (ideally 7+ years; senior experience preferred). Previous experience from the pharmaceutical industry Proven experience designing and overseeing RWE studies and familiarity with GPP. Strong collaborator with experience working across functions and with external partners (CROs, KOLs, academia). Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills; able to explain complex methods to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Hands‑on experience with real‑world data sources and analytical planning Fluent in English (written and spoken).
