This role is heavily involved as production areas ramp up and during operations. This role involves global collaboration with our partner site in Denmark, and Project Managers (PMs) while ensuring cross-functional alignment on upcoming projects for execution across the site. The Associate Project Portfolio Manager assists with managing a portfolio of projects that align with the company’s values and goals. This role assists in all aspects of project tracking for CAPEX projects in the $20K-$20M USD range; assists with the development of schedules, work plans, forecast, budget management and A&E/CM planning while minimizing risk and managing expectations. While the CAPEX organization continues to scale-up to meet demand, this role encompasses aspects of project management duties and partners intimately with the PMs within the Capital Projects group to understand needs and progress for each project. This role performs field walks to determine scopes for new projects, along with initial project management of projects as required by management. This role assists with setting up the governance strategy for projects to streamline project and budget approvals along with providing support to PMs for the lifecycle of applicable projects. Additionally, this role ensures a strong understanding of workload across the Capital Projects group to level load projects per PMs and associated portfolio team. Company Overview

Job Description

 

What You’ll Do 

Oversees a diversified portfolio spanning Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) projects in development, clinical and commercial manufacturing and support areas, lab renovations and buildouts, building and facility infrastructure improvements and additionsDevelops and maintains the Capital Projects organization portfolio including executing plans, metrics and stages/gatesAssists with managing a CAPEX portfolio expense budget of $5 - $20M USD annuallyPerforms field walks to determine project scopes and provide initial input on scheduling, budgeting, and A&E and CM for projectsFacilitates project kick off meetings, development of project teams, and clear definition of team roles and responsibilitiesProvides project status reports, updates, and concerning matters of significant to required stakeholdersRepresents Capital Projects as the prime internal and external point of contact on all projectsPrepares and submits projects for Gate Process and review/approve steps at site and global levelsAssists briefings for senior management and key external representativesReviews and consolidates project progress (including spending) with PMs on a regular basis, identifies opportunities for improvement, and provides recommendations for corrective actionsTracks all projects within budget, schedule, and quality constraints cross-functionally at the siteIdentifies and tracks portfolio initiatives and conducts a GAP analysisPerforms other duties, as assigned

Basic Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in project management, business management, or other related field with 5 years of capital project execution, portfolio management, or applicable industry experience; oMaster’s degree in business management or other related field with 3 years of capital project execution, portfolio management, or applicable industry experienceExperience working in a CGMP manufacturing facility

Preferred Requirements

Master’s degree in business administrationSmall to large scale capital project experiencePrior experience leading capital or construction projects

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements 

Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, etc. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time up to 120 minutesAbility to sit for prolonged periods of time up to 120 minutes Ability to conduct activities using repetitive motions that include writs, hands and/or fingersAbility to bend, push or pull, reach to retrieve materials from 18” to 60” in height, and use twisting motionsWill work in warm/cold environments between 0-115 F  Will work in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind
