Associate Principal Engineer - Project Management - Supply Chain Engineering
Overview The Frito-Lay Supply Chain Productivity Sustainability and Food Safety team is seeking a Supply Chain Engineer (L9) to lead projects that enhance manufacturing capacity through equipment installation and modification, manage cross-functional teams, control project costs and schedules, handle procurement, and supervise equipment start-up with 7+ years of experience and a BS in engineering preferred; the role requires strong project management skills, technical curiosity, effective communication, and involves 25-35% travel. Responsibilities Execute engineering solutions to bring additional capacity to Frito-Lay’s portfolio of products. This can include the installation of new manufacturing lines and/or the modification of existing production equipment, including process, packaging, warehouse, facilities & utilities Participate in and lead cross-functional teams of colleagues and outside resources, including plant personnel, equipment vendors, engineering and construction contractors Define manufacturing and unit operation needs for project scope requirements and documentation Ability to independently lead medium and large projects Apply Engineering principles to problem solving and managing unexpected changes Manage costs by developing project budgets, maintaining cost tracking tools and actively controlling project costs to deliver project cost requirements. Create project funding documents. Demonstrate time management skills by developing project timelines, maintaining time management tools in multiple formats and actively controlling project schedules, ensuring project schedule attainment. Manage procurement including analyzing quotes, writing procurement documents and tracking project procurement information. This also includes developing and leveraging technical specifications and writing inspection acceptance test plans. Develop, manage and execute equipment installation and start-up plans while supervising outside contractors and vendors. Manage multiple project deliverables, accelerated timelines and competing priorities Adequately manage, communicate and mitigate project risks Expected travel from 35% to 40% Compensation and Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $93,500 - $156,450. Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually.
