Associate Manager Inbound Logistics

Fort Payne, AlabamaJob Summary:The Associate Manager, Inbound Logistics will be responsible for controlling and monitoring processes and work flows of the inbound transportation within the company. This position will monitor and execute all day to day inbound transportation challenges. This position will ensure deliveries are made to the distribution centers in a timely fashion.
Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities:

Partner with brokers, carriers, truckers, and our Distribution Centers to manage and communicate the inbound delivery flow of the shipmentsRecommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, and/or frequencyUtilize 3PL systems, company systems, and Excel to track inbound Ocean and Air freight from origin to distribution centers in the US and CanadaCreate and manage business reporting, including inbound forecastingResolve issues as they may occur. Identify and address opportunities for improvementMonitor carrier performance and provide KPI reportingResolving with logistics service provider any freight or concealed damage claimsPerform other duties as required

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree3+ years of experience in inbound transportation operations or an equivalent combination of training and supervisory experience necessarySystems and Tools Acumen: Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and have aptitude to learn technical applications quicklyPossess strong organizational and time management skillsDemonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills

Skills and Behaviors

Strong technical skills in the areas of spreadsheets, database, Infor Nexus and SAPMust be well-organized, detail-oriented, and familiar with record-keeping systemsHighly proficient in Microsoft Office and strong computer skillsIn depth knowledge of transportation and claim procedures and safe processing methods are crucialMust be detail-oriented with strong mathematical and written abilitiesAbility to communicate effectively to department teams, cross-functional partners, and upper managementStrong planning skills with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
