Data Management Senior Analyst
Role Overview
The Data Management Senior Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of critical financial data across instruments, market indices, and pricing. This role involves handling complex security-related data, liaising with global teams, and supporting automation and process improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a technically strong, analytical, and confident individual with experience in asset management data operations and a desire to lead initiatives that improve efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Data Oversight & Quality ControlOversee the setup, maintenance, and monitoring of security, index, and pricing data.
Review and resolve exceptions, missing data, and manual inputs for illiquid securities.
Recalculate Private Equity prices following events (e.g., drawdowns).
Maintain regulatory data related to pricing and valuations, including Fair Value Levels (IFRS).
Perform data quality checks and validate inputs for accuracy.
Stakeholder & Global LiaisonLiaise with global teams, front/middle office, and external vendors to resolve data queries.
Coordinate client valuation data and manage vendor-related issues.
Monitor team mailboxes and resolve requests efficiently using case management tools.
Process Improvement & AutomationMaintain and enhance automation tools (“robots”) used in data management processes.
Support system changes, UAT, and process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows.
Share specialist knowledge with junior analysts and provide guidance on complex data issues.
Project & Reporting SupportSupport projects with substantial data components, including system upgrades and regulatory initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data-related projects and enhancements.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have Skills & ExperienceStrong PC skills, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Good written and verbal communication skills; confident interacting with stakeholders globally.
Broad understanding of securities data: Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, pricing, and Index Data.
Knowledge of corporate action event pricing methodologies.
Ability to analyse complex data, identify discrepancies, and provide solutions.
Experience liaising with multiple teams and managing operational queries effectively.
Good-to-Have Skills & ExperienceDegree in business, finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
Substantial previous experience managing data (instrument, price, index) in an asset management environment.
Experience with Aladdin, S&P (Markit) EDM, T24.
Experience using data vendors such as Refinitiv Eikon, Datascope, Bloomberg, ICE.
Advanced Excel skills including formulas, macros, VBA, Power Query, SQL.
Familiarity with OTC derivative products and valuation methodologies.
Previous experience with Xceptor configuration in a live setting; Xceptor Practitioner Certification.
Experience leading or mentoring junior team members on complex data tasks.
