Job Description: Junior Data EngineerRole Summary

We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer with basic knowledge of Azure data tools, Databricks, and SQL. The role involves assisting in building data pipelines, supporting data ingestion processes, and helping maintain Lakehouse-based data solutions in a banking/financial environment.

Key Responsibilities Assist in developing and maintaining data pipelines using Azure Databricks and PySpark. Support data ingestion processes using ADF/Synapse and Event Hubs/Kafka. Help build simple ETL workflows for datasets such as transactions, payments, customer data, or reporting data. Work with Delta Lake tables (basic tasks such as schema handling, data updates, validations). Perform basic Spark optimizations under guidance (partitioning, caching, file management). Ensure secure handling of data following team guidelines (RBAC, access controls, encryption). Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and analysts for requirement understanding and delivery. Support CI/CD processes and version control using Git and Azure DevOps. Participate in code reviews, testing, and resolving basic pipeline issues. Mandatory Skills Basic hands-on knowledge of Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake. Understanding of Azure data services like ADF, Synapse, ADLS Gen2. Good SQL skills and basic knowledge of data modeling concepts. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD basics, and general cloud concepts. Good problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. Preferred Skills Exposure to banking/financial datasets or domain projects. Basic understanding of streaming concepts (Kafka/Event Hubs). Knowledge of Python for scripting and data processing. Interest in learning ML pipelines and modern data engineering tools.
