Associate Director-Technical Product Management

Job Description:

Lead and supervise a team of professionals to define and drive the technical product vision, strategy, and execution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with market demands and deliver customer-centric software solutions that achieve business objectives.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:

Technical Product Vision and Strategy: Shape and communicate the product vision and strategy by analyzing customer needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape.

Roadmap Planning and Stakeholder Collaboration: Define, prioritize, and manage the product roadmap in partnership with business, architecture, UX, and other product managers.

Product Development and Requirements Management: Oversee the development process by guiding the creation of detailed software product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, and support trade-off discussions and negotiations.

Customer-Centric Product Management: Ensure product viability and alignment with business goals by monitoring performance, advocating for customer needs, and delivering a high-quality user experience.

Sprint Planning and Subject Matter Expertise: Participate in sprint planning, support feature refinement, and serve as a subject matter expert for assigned products or product lines.

Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of product managers and related staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Job Contribution:
Oversees operational aspects of the department, focusing on day-to-day management and execution of initiatives. Implements strategies developed by higher management and leads a team of entry-level and career-level staff. Responsible for key people management decisions, including hiring, disciplinary actions, promotions, and compensation. Collaborates closely with senior leadership to ensure strategic alignment and successful delivery of technology products.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Computer Science or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in technical product management or a similar leadership role.
