The Associate Director of the Characterization team will lead a group of approximately 5 scientists, whose main mission is to support the extended characterization testing of late stage and commercial biologics (e.g. antibodies, recombinant proteins, fusion proteins, and enzymes, etc). The Characterization team is responsible for performing the activities to support the elucidation of structure, reference standard characterization, comparability, host cell protein profiling and quantitation, as well as supporting stability assessments and investigation. This position resides within the Analytical Science and Technology (AST) protein characterization group, which is part of the Global MSAT at Sanofi, Framingham, MA. Ready to get started? **Main Responsibilities:** + Lead and inspire a team of Analytical Scientists by providing both technical guidance and strategic direction, fostering innovation, scientific excellence, and alignment with organizational goals + Drive team growth and engagement by actively managing team member’s career development through personalized mentorship, performance feedback, training opportunities, and strategic talent planning + Provide impactful scientific mentorship to direct reports, guiding the design, execution, and interpretation of complex experiments to ensure the strategic alignment with project goals + Work with a global group of engineers and scientists and lead a team to provide timely analytical testing support of upstream, downstream processes; MSAT development and pilot-scale projects. Review data for accuracy and compliance to procedures. + Support analytical method transfer and analytical method qualification studies including projects for internal and external partners + Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety requirements.
