Associate Director of Sales
POSITION SUMMARY

Work in coordination with the Director of Catering Sales Management in overseeing the sales department and working with clients to provide exceptional service for clients. Maintain professional rapport with vendors, clients, and other departments. Work in securing new and returning business for the convention center. Training new employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in ongoing development of sales budgets and strategies to uncover new businessWork with other departments within the food and beverage division to create menus and source specific show needs for the clientsManage larger scale shows and manage sales staff to ensure quality of service and to provide guidance to the sales teamDraft written proposals, conduct sales presentations, negotiate price points and draft contract languageArrange for facility site visits and/or travel off-site to meet clients & observe their events if neededEstablish personal rapport with new clients and maintain relationships with repeat clients’ corporations and show organizers to utilize the Moscone Center for shows & special eventsDraft written proposals, conduct sales presentations, negotiate price points and draft contract language. Draft tasting menus and costing for clients.Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction to current and potential clients at all timesTrain and mentor sales staffOther duties and projects as assigned or directedReconcile outstanding payments with client after shows

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in a business-related fieldMinimum of 5-7 years of sales experience, including 3 years specifically related to the event or hospitality industrySolid experience with solicitation, account management and financial reporting is essential

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Excellent telephone, presentation, written & verbal communication skillsAbility to negotiate, be creative, organize information and demonstrate interpersonal skillsAbility to overcome prospect objectionsStrong computer aptitude with understanding of and ability to use Microsoft Office products. (Candidate must have the ability to learn new systems)Customer service and team orientation Ability to organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with attention to detailStrong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills

Salary Range: $90,000-$100,000 + commissions
