Associate Director Manufacturing Operations

Job Responsibilities:

Administer and lead the Process Teams from manufacturing operations.  Lead and organize the work priorities and objectives, aligned with the business vision and mission.  Provide direction, guidance and consulting to the shift supervisors “Fully meet roles and responsibilities as described in the Manufacturing Standards for Operational Excellence, MSOE 602 and Process Teams objectives.”

Personnel Management 

Ensure an adequate number of qualified personnel to perform activities in production area.  Ensure that the responsibilities placed on any one individual are not so extensive as to present any risk to quality.Ensure self and direct reports are in compliance with necessary training and applicable qualifications for the assigned tasks and also provide oversight for the people under his/her organization.Verify and approve personnel qualification documents (applies to production area).Review training plans assigned to all team members.Assign medical surveillance to their personnel and ensure it aligns with area requirements. Carry out performance evaluation for his/her staff:Complete the Performance Management cycle for direct reports in the system and also provide oversight for the people under his/her organization.Ensure the development of his/her personnel is in accordance with job requirements.Manage the salary administration process, using information provided by the shift supervisor.Represent the Production team in medical cases.]Conduct Employee Relations investigations, manage any disciplinary actions following the established procedure for all people under his/her organization.Conduct periodic meetings with production supervisors and operators to cover related topics such as Execution performance, EHS related information, Events, etc.Provide reward and recognition for teams and individuals as appropriate.Manage the time and attendance of the direct reports and also provide oversight to the time and attendance of the people under his/her organization. Coordinate vacations, assure that absenteeism policies are met.Monitor overtime and absenteeism for direct reports and also provide oversight for the people under his/her organization.Approve vacation for direct reports and also provide oversight for the people under his/her organization.Maintain open and direct communication with supervisors on all administration and technical aspects of the groups.Integrate all operators and maintain consistency in the operations.Participate in disciplinary situations in your area.Ensure that the disciplinary actions are completed.

Manage areas under your supervision.

Authorize their external training plans.Develop, prepare, approve and offer trainings.Train personnel under your supervision.Active participation in the cleaning process strategy.Plan and prioritize the area activities.Foster teamwork.Support the management of manufacturing investigations in area.Revise and approve electronic system investigations.Ensure compliance with regulatory topics (Quality, Environmental Health & Safety.Ensure compliance with OSCCE Metrics.Ensure compliance with production plan.Participate in area processes for flexibility, sustainability and continuity.Participate in teamwork between sites and assure compliance of commitments.Develop and participate in the annual business plan.Ensure the correct disposition on hazardous wastes generated in your department.Notify supervision of dangerous hazardous wastesResponsible for your security and of your co-workers, complying with the Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and regulations.

Process Team Leader responsibilities

The Process Team Leader is accountable to act as an organizational integrator by:Leading daily meetings including the use of appropriate communication tools (e.g., visual management boards) to ensure that the Process Team members are aware of process status and any assigned responsibilities to address issues.Generating the Process Team charter and ensuring it is reviewed annually, detailing objectives and metrics targets and obtaining approval from the appropriate operations leadership team.Owning the execution of the Process Team routine, change and improvement agendas.Serving as a link between the Process Team and the appropriate operations leadership team.Addressing all issues related to the assigned processes (including but not limited to HSE, Quality, facilities, equipment, training, throughput, trend analysis, self-monitoring, etc.). The Process Team Leader may use other site resources to resolve the issues associated to their area (i.e. Site Engineering, HSE representatives, IT, etc.).Escalating issues to the appropriate management level when necessary, following the appropriate notification to management process.

​Basic Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Science Eight (8) years of experience in related area. At least three (3) years of experience leading a team.Experience working in a highly regulated pharma environment and knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g., GMP, computer systems, HSE)Fully bilingual (English/Spanish)Strong compliance mindset and sound judgementStrong communication skills both written and verbalAbility to build partnerships and collaborate with internal and external customersExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire othersExcellent writing skills, documentation practices and FDA and other applicable regulation areas. Available to give support a 24/7 operation, provide support on weekends, holidays, rotating shift, and after regular working hours when required.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$118,500 - $191,180

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
