Associate Director - Data Science
**Job Description:** _JOB TITLE:_ Associate Director - Data Science _REMOTE TYPE: Office Worker_ _JOB LOCATION:_ 2900 W. Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX 75075 _DUTIES:_ Lead and develop a team of Data Scientists in identifying opportunities for cost reduction, revenue opportunities, customer experience improvements based on intelligence developed from company data assets while balancing predictability along with ethical AI concepts. Motivate, inspire, and challenge new and innovative data analytics and insights that accelerate data driven decision making. Provide expert guidance to highly skilled multidisciplinary teams, combining business and technical knowledge. Challenge debate and push beyond normal processes in order to drive innovation. Bridge the gap between pure research and value creation for optimized business solutions. Guide the organization to envision, create, design and implement new data sources/feature creation. Demonstrate effective story telling with data. Build relationships with key partners and leadership sponsors of data insights. Ensure conformance with AI/ML target architecture and AT&T’s AI operating guidelines. Operate algorithm categories such as Supervised Learning, Unsupervised Learning, Optimization Algorithms, Deep Learning, AI-Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Deep Reinforcement Learning, Search Algorithms, and AI- Knowledge Graphs. Use data science language as well as modern ML packages and libraries. Utilize Object Oriented Programming (SQL, Java). Utilize database solutions, data architecture, database management systems, and software technical components. Distribute storage and processing for large datasets. Supervise different aspects of Software Development Life Cycle delivery, support, sustainment and operations which includes requirements gathering, development, quality assurance, operations, design and implementation, Project and Product Management, stakeholder management. Manage a team of software engineers who work on critical decision engine for AT&T. Coach a team of engineers and data scientists for career growth and job optimization. Interface with internal clients, external vendors and partners plus the ability to communicate to leadership on milestones and key deliverables. Supervises seven (7) employees, including one (1) SeniorQuality Assurance, one (1) Principal Member Of Technical Staff, one (1) Principal-Big Data Software Engineer, and four (4) Senior-Applications Developer. _REQUIREMENTS:_ Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation utilizing Object Oriented Programming (SQL, Java); utilizing database solutions, data architecture, database management systems, and software technical components; distributing storage and processing for large datasets; and supervising different aspects of Software Development Life Cycle delivery, support, sustainment and operations which includes requirements gathering, development, quality assurance, operations, design and implementation, Project and Product Management, stakeholder management.
