**Job Description:** **Associate Director – Web Engineering** We are seeking an experienced Associate Director – Web Engineering with a strong background in both front-end (UI) and back-end technologies. This role is ideal for someone passionate about delivering exceptional digital experiences for high-transaction e-commerce websites, ensuring high performance and resiliency. **For this role we need:** Engineering Leader who can create a high-performance, scalable, secure web design and development and lead a team of talented engineers and QA resources. **KEY MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE:** + Candidates must have experience in building a **high performance** , **secure** and **scalable** web application/website and APIs in digital or ecommerce domain. + Candidates must have experience in leading **Engineering** team that builds **high transaction** web application/website and APIs in digital, retail or ecommerce domain. + This role needs relevant experience in working with **CDN** , improving **developer productivity** using **Gen AI, QA Automation** and DevOps **CI/CD.** **Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View:** + Lead, inspire, and manage a team of web engineers through effective coaching, performance management, and career development. + Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and timelines. + Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for web projects including planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. + Architect and enforce best practices in web development, including coding standards, code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD). + Ensure web applications are optimized for performance, accessibility, security, and scalability. + Drive innovation by researching and integrating new web technologies, frameworks, and tools that enhance product capabilities. + Manage resource allocation and project prioritization to meet deadlines and deliverables. + Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team productivity and product quality. + Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. + Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between engineering and business objectives. + Stays abreast of emerging technologies and assesses their applicability to the organization. **Minimum Qualification and Skills** + Bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). + 10+ years of solid experience and understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices for building **highly scalable** and maintainable systems. + 8+ years of working experience with **high-volume** websites and **high-velocity transactions** and designing systems that can handle the demands of real-time or near-real-time data. + 8+ years of hands-on experience in the development of web applications and microservices. + 8+ years of experience with leading, managing and mentoring teams. + 5+ years of proven experience building sophisticated applications and APIs in **Cloud** and **hybrid cloud** environments at **large scale** preferably in **Java** and **React JS.** + 5+ years of experience in using **observability tools** such as APM, analytics platforms, etc. + 5+ years experience working with cloud platforms, such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud, to architect and implement scalable, high performance and efficient solutions. + In-depth understanding and practical application of **networking architecture principles** and **security** : **caching** and content delivery ( **CDN** ). **Desired Qualification and Skills** + Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, adapt to emerging technologies, and implement industry best practices. + Experience in building applications and performance scripts using **AI Peer Programming tools** . + Proficient in using modern software development tools, version control systems (ex. Git), and continuous integration/continuous deployment ( **CI/CD** ) pipelines. + Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a proven track record of collaborating effectively in cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers. + Demonstrated ability to take ownership and responsibility of critical issues and conclude them to resolution. + Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to dissect complex technical challenges and propose innovative solutions. **Technical Skills** CDN, Caching techniques, React.js, Node.js, Next JS, Micro Front-End architecture, Typescript, Graph QL, Bootstrap.js, HTML5, XML, CSS3, JavaScript, Java, REST services, NoSql technologies (Cassandra/Mongo DB), Spring boot, Kafka/MQ, Redis, ELK, Azure / AWS, Prometheus/Grafana, Git, Jira, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Quantum Metrics Our Associate Director earns between $175,000-220,000 Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers.
