Associate Director, Product Control

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

This role supports the Corporate Treasury (CT) business within the Product Control team under the CFO Finance group.

The incumbent is primarily responsible for the effective production and improvement of the weekly and monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) reporting for the Corporate Treasury business. This involves managing a team of product controllers to drive critical P&L accuracy and transparency enhancement projects. The Associate Director will also ensure effective communication of reporting and findings to business and Finance stakeholders, as well as to senior management teams.

What will you do?

Lead a team of two to produce P&L and decomposition of P&LCollaborate closely with Finance, CT business, risk management, and IT partners to enhance control environment and drive transparencyDevelop and maintain a robust CT P&L reporting process through leveraging existing and new data infrastructurePlay key role in the P&L control environment; provide assurance over accuracy and completeness of financial resultsEnsure timely production of weekly and monthly P&L reporting, as well as investigation into material variances between P&L estimate vs. ActualDesign, deliver, and implement P&L analytic development projects, with the use of RBC’s analytics toolsCommunication of monthly estimate and actual results to Finance stakeholders and senior managementEnsure that project activities are accomplished within approved time frames, scope, and budgetsWork with data warehouses on various projectsPrepare reconciliation / analysis / reports to meet ad-hoc requests as necessaryWork in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive and highly performing teamAbility to make a real impact to the bank and have decisions that will change how we do business

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

3+ years’ of experience in Product Control or a closely related roleProven experience and strong overall understanding of fixed income and derivative products, as well as their usage in a treasury settingStrong leadership, analytical, communication and people management skillsAbility to make decisions and collaborate effectively with peopleAbility to deal with problems that are not well defined and create clear and concise solutions with feedback from many usersExperienced in project management and change management

Nice-to-have

Graduate degree in Finance and/or degree in data analyticsExperience working with Big Data to drive Business Driver insights and analyticsExperience building financial models
