Associate Director, Market Services Solutions

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Market Services Solutions team is responsible for the technical sales and relationship management across RBC Investor Services Market Services’ offerings; cash, foreign exchange and securities finance. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the product strategy and profitability of Market Services through exceptional relationship management, and the identification and development of sales opportunities. The role supports our largest institutional clients at RBC IS by acting as a trusted expert in our market facing solutions to further enable their success in achieving portfolio management efficiency, and enhanced investment performance. With a consultative, solutions-oriented approach you will be expected to demonstrate initiative, energy, and superior execution in growing and maintaining assigned relationships.

What will you do?

Anchored in our securities finance offering you will ensure deep connectivity is maintained within your client/prospect’s executive, management and operational levels to fully understand their market services needs and strategic direction

Lead regular relationship touchpoints and performance reviews with an ability to synthesize market developments, regulatory change and trends in the global securities lending and foreign exchange market

Identify, manage and execute on revenue growth opportunities and cost savings strategies for your client base

Capture, assess and provide market intelligence on the global securities finance competitive landscape to senior and executive management

Regularly discuss and present to clients/prospects and RBC IS senior management on global market developments and trends

Develop succinct presentations and performance reviews which are backed by thorough portfolio analysis and convey targeted value propositions

Contribute to thought leadership through the publication of articles, case studies and conference participation, providing insights and expertise while demonstrating industry leadership that bolters presence and drives continued credibility

Collaborate with Market Services product management and trading teams in the support of your clients/prospects to solution their needs

Lead the negotiation of pricing and legal agreements

Work closely with Relationship Management, Business Development, Client Management, Operations and other support teams in the holistic servicing of RBC IS clients/prospects

Partner with other areas of RBC to bring OneRBC to the market

Fully understand the complete RBC Investor Services product scope and value proposition

What do you need to succeed?

Must haves:

University degree (or equivalent)

5-7 years of relevant client facing experience within the securities lending, securities financing, prime brokerage industry, and/or asset servicing industry

A demonstrated track record in a relationship management/sales capacity with large/complex Canadian and global financial institutions

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to create trusted relationships with clients, prospects and centres of influence

Solid knowledge and understanding of the financial services, asset management and asset servicing industry

A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced trading-floor environment

Passion for global markets

Nice-to-have:

Sound technical knowledge and understanding of foreign exchange and cash markets

Bilingualism (English and French)

Proficient in Microsoft Power BI

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$90,000.00 - $140,000.00
