What is the Opportunity?
As Associate Director, Enterprise Risk Policy (ERP), you will play a key role in identifying, developing, maintaining, and communicating enterprise-wide policies to help achieve strategic alignment with RBC’s risk profile. In this role you will develop and update credit risk-focused enterprise risk policies, provide policy related advice and guidance to RBC’s businesses and head office functional units.
What will you do?
Prioritize and address enterprise risk policy needs in an effective and timely manner. You’ll need to ensure credit risk policies align with regulatory and supervisory requirements, the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, Risk Appetite Framework, Risk Conduct & Culture Framework, and other risk-specific frameworks.Actively collaborate with other groups, teams and subject matter experts across RBC to develop effective, understandable and implementable enterprise-wide policies.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders from RBC business platforms and head office functional units to provide timely and effective communication that facilitates the successful adoption of enterprise risk policies. Steer policy documents through the approval process with senior management and risk committees.Monitor and report on adherence to, and effectiveness of risk policies.Maintain a high level of awareness of developments in the businesses, markets and regulatory environments, recommending and incorporating changes into risk policies as appropriate.Provide guidance and advice on the alignment and integration of enterprise risk policies; including the formulation of business strategies and supplemental business-specific policies and/or standards.What do you need to succeed?
Must-Have:
University degree5+ years of experience in financial services – in particular credit and/or market and counterparty credit risk management, capital markets, personal banking or corporate/commercial bankingVery strong problem solving skills. Intellectual curiosity, global and strategic mindset with ability to think conceptually while remaining detail orientedProven ability to drive results (independently or as part of a team), meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities in an evolving environmentExceptional people skills: ability to collaborate effectively, draw out diverse views, and influence and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups to achieve greater resultsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteNice-to-Have:
Project management experience and/or project management designationKnowledge of / experience in policy writing and governanceStrong presentation skills, with experience presenting to senior management and/or governance forumsWhat’s in it for you?
