Job Title: Data Architect – SQL, T-SQL, Data Modeling Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with a strong background in SQL, T-SQL, and data modeling to lead the design and optimization of enterprise data solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the Health Payer domain (preferably with FACETS or similar tools). This role demands hands-on technical leadership, the ability to troubleshoot critical data issues, and the capability to manage multiple projects in parallel while leading a team of 15 data professionals.

Key Responsibilities 1. Data Architecture & Design

Design and review scalable, high-performance, and compliant data architectures.

Identify opportunities for cost, time, and asset utilization optimization in complex data projects.

Conduct technical audits and data architecture reviews to enhance efficiency and quality.

Define and track architectural quality metrics for enterprise data solutions.

2. Data Modeling & Optimization

Develop and maintain logical and physical data models across diverse business use cases.

Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze gaps, trade-offs, and dependencies.

Define systems and sub-systems aligned with enterprise architecture goals and standards.

3. Technical Leadership & Mentoring

Lead and manage a team of 15 data engineers, ensuring high-quality delivery.

Provide technical mentorship, performance feedback, and career guidance.

Drive hiring, training, and skill development initiatives.

Prepare and maintain onboarding and knowledge transfer (KT) documentation.

4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

Work closely with business owners, customers, and cross-functional teams to gather and define requirements, including non-functional requirements (NFRs).

Partner with architects to assess technology landscapes, tools, and processes for the best-fit architecture strategy.

Collaborate with alliance partners and vendors to drive business outcomes.

5. Strategic & Risk Management

Define technology roadmaps and drive data architecture strategy across programs.

Analyze cost-benefit trade-offs of different architecture solutions.

Support project managers and Scrum Masters in identifying technical risks and mitigation strategies.

6. Innovation & Thought Leadership

Represent the organization in industry forums, conferences, and internal technical discussions.

Explore innovative solutions for cost optimization and process efficiency.

Conduct demos and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

7. Process Improvement & Automation

Leverage scripting to automate and optimize data management processes.

Continuously identify and implement opportunities for operational excellence.

8. Cloud & Infrastructure Management

Work with cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) to deploy, optimize, and scale data solutions.

Partner with DevOps and Cloud teams to ensure cost efficiency, performance, and security compliance.

Required Skills & Experience

12+ years of IT experience as a Data Engineer / Database Programmer, with 3+ years as a Data Architect.

3+ years of experience in data modeling and database design.

Expert-level proficiency in SQL and T-SQL.

Strong domain expertise in Health Payer business, preferably with FACETS or equivalent platforms.

Proven ability to manage multiple parallel projects and lead large technical teams.

Deep understanding of data governance, ETL processes, and data integration frameworks.

Experience defining and implementing non-functional requirements (NFRs) and system architecture.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Exposure to data security, compliance, and governance frameworks in healthcare.

Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD data pipelines.
