Description Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to support Amazon Web Services (AWS), a dynamic and rapidly growing business at the forefront of the cloud computing and service industry. The successful candidate has excellent communication skills and organizational skills. They are enthusiastic about technology, enjoy being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. They are able to prioritize, multitask, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate works well within a large legal team, but is also able to work independently. We hire attorneys with experience in a variety of practice areas, including (but not limited to) litigators, general corporate, mergers & acquisitions, technical transactions, intellectual property, telecommunications, real estate, products, regulatory compliance, and privacy. We don’t expect every applicant to have experience working with cloud computing and we are looking for candidates who are willing to learn and develop alongside our team. Key job responsibilities - Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and support marketing and communications teams within AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services; - Guide and counsel internal business partners on a variety of complex legal issues; - Ensure compliance with state and federal regulators; - Negotiate complex, impactful commercial agreements; - Consider legal issues of first impression; and - Drive process-oriented improvements. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
