Job Description
As an Assistant Controller, you will play a vital role in the management reporting process, including the preparation of department reports and business variance analysis. You will support the Plant Controller in month-end reporting and variance analysis, participate in monthly close transactions, and ensure timely and quality output of balance sheet reconciliations. You will be cross-trained as an expert in product costing setup and maintenance, and provide support to the plant operating team through consolidated performance metric reporting. Your responsibilities will include participation in the physical inventory process, business analytics, management of business cases, and completion of both internal and external audit requirements. Additionally, you will seek opportunities for process improvement in business operations and capabilities within the Finance group, assist in the preparation of the annual financial budget, develop monthly financial forecasts, and prepare tracking tools to monitor improvement initiatives. You will ensure the accuracy of all transactions entered into the general ledger, optimize financial models to enhance budget and forecasting accuracy, ensure proper inventory levels, maintain a strong set of internal controls, refine the division's standard cost system integrity, and undertake special projects as directed.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare recurring management reports including department reports and business variance analysis.Support Plant Controller in month-end reporting and variance analysis.Participate in monthly close process transactions and balance sheet reconciliations.Cross-trained expert in product costing setup and maintenance.Support Plant operating team through daily/weekly/monthly consolidated performance metric reporting.Participate in physical inventory process.Conduct business analytics and manage business cases.Complete internal and external audit requirements.Seek opportunities for process improvement within business operations and Finance group capabilities.Assist in the preparation of the annual financial budget.Provide assistance in the development of monthly financial forecasts.Prepare tracking tools to monitor improvement initiatives.Ensure accuracy of transactions entered into the general ledger.Optimize financial models for improved budget and forecasting accuracy.Ensure proper inventory levels to meet forecasted sales demand.Maintain strong internal controls.Refine and maintain integrity of the division's standard cost system.Undertake special projects as directed.Essential SkillsStrong accounting skills.Expertise in general ledger management.Proficient in reconciliation processes.Experience in month-end and financial reporting.Skilled in journal entry and reporting.Comprehensive understanding of finance.Ability to manage balance sheets and bank reconciliation.Proficient in accrual accounting.Additional Skills & QualificationsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.Experience with Excel modeling is advantageous.ERP systems experience, with QAD knowledge being a plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Hands-on problem-solving and analytical skills.Comfortable in high-level business strategy discussions and detailed data analysis.Maintain objectivity with business partners while sustaining collaborative relationships.Exceptional analytical skills.High degree of accuracy in work.Work Environment
The role requires onsite presence, providing an opportunity to collaborate closely with team members and engage directly with plant operations.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
