Job Title: Associate Civil Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Associate Civil Engineer to provide project design services in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D. You will work on plans, calculations, specifications, and estimates for entire smaller projects and portions of larger projects, with guidance from sr staff.
Responsibilities
Serve as an ambassador and uphold the company's mission, purpose, and core values.Maintain high standards of quality and excellence.Adhere to company policies and procedures.Foster a positive work environment and promote a healthy company culture.Communicate effectively with peers, employees, and management.Submit billing files, timecards, and reimbursables on time.Meet budgets and deadlines.Share profession-related talents within the firm.Travel as necessary to support the firm and clients.Meet chargeability targets set annually by the service council leader.Interact with clients professionally and courteously.Provide design and CAD direction to junior staff.Complete basic design tasks for small projects or portions of larger projects.Learn the scope and budget for assigned tasks and work within those constraints.Assist in preparing task budgets within a proposal under the direction of a Project Manager.Gather data for report preparation and assist in report preparation under sr staff direction.Coordinate projects with agencies and other consultants.Support CAD Designers with design and CAD questions.Visit project sites occasionally for initial site visits and to confirm design issues or monitor construction.Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.Minimum of six years of experience in a related role.Current knowledge of professional codes, laws, computer applications, and trends.Training in AutoCAD Civil 3D software.Strong working knowledge and proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D software.Proficiency in other relevant engineering software.Excellent customer/client service skills and multi-tasking abilities.Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of engineering principles.Developed skills in one or two areas of specialization in Civil Engineering.Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions.Ability to work effectively in a team.Proficiency in Sketchup, Design development, Construction drawings, and Bluebeam.Work Environment
The work environment is friendly and collaborative, with a team size of 20 people across disciplines like civil engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, and planning. You will report to department heads in the engineering department. The standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with a hybrid work schedule allowing work from home 2-3 days a week. Travel is occasionally required to visit client sites or attend city council meetings. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
