Associate Avionics Technician – C-17 (4699)

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is looking for an Associate Avionics Technician to join our C-17 team in San Antonio, TX.

Position Responsibilities:

Perform connector terminations including shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optic wiringAbility and understanding of routing instructions and handling of harnesses.Perform sealing, wrapping, bonding, tying, and closure of wire harnesses and cables in accordance with standard processesRead and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform electrical modifications and repairsUse tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of electrical wiringPerform assembly, installation, visual inspection of physical characteristics, modification of wire bundles & electrical assemblies, operational and quality checks of aircraftTroubleshoot organizational and depot maintenance level malfunctions in aircraft electrical and comms/nav-systemsInterpret standard work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, wire diagrams, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, job layouts, etc...Use all equipment in accordance with established safety and operating procedures.Perform all tasks involved in the coordination, preparation, and movement of material and toolsOperate riding type electric powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignmentsMaintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work.Perform all duties of lower Electrical classifications as required to successfully accomplish assignmentsAscend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds

This position requires the ability to pass an assessment during the training cycle

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

3+ years of experience with electrical/electronic theories and aircraft avionics systems3+ years of experience in working with specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures.3+ years of experience with component and wire installation: (repairing, modifying, testing and troubleshooting new, experimental, and disturbed systems)3+ years of experience with aircraft computer systems and basic office softwareAbility to work first or second shift

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience with heavy aircraft modificationExperience working with COMSEC, Radar, or Electronic Warfare SystemsOperate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignment.

Shift: This position is variable (1st or 2nd) shift

Summary Starting Pay Rate: $70,800 / $34.04 per hour

Additive Pay:  $1.00/hourly for Airframe Certification

                          $1.00/hourly for Powerplant Certification
