What is the opportunity?

The Capital Markets (CM) Strategy team is responsible for articulating and advancing RBC CM’s strategy across lines of business and functions to support overall growth and performance ambitions. The team works directly with the CM CEO and Operating Committee on the business’ top strategic priorities – from problem definition and analysis, to strategy development and solution prioritization. The team also leads reporting on CM’s strategic progress to CM employees, RBC executives, and external stakeholders. The team has deep connectivity to the CM Operating Committee, their leadership teams, Finance, the COO Group, HR, and other Corporate Functions. What will you do?

Partner with business leaders to deliver comprehensive strategic projects leveraging frameworks, approaches, tools and methodologies and develop robust recommendations to support CM Operating Committee executives and lines of business leaders

Ensure growth strategies are well developed, articulated and aligned across businesses and with enterprise perspectives / priorities, and proactively identify benefits such as revenue opportunities, market share gains, or cost savings opportunities

Facilitate data gathering and presentation creation for reporting, initiative tracking, and employee communications, and generate meaningful insights that inspire decision making and action

Conduct analysis and research to provide context into the current state and inform future state solutioning

Perform ongoing competitive analysis to identify market best practices and analyze RBC CM’s relative performance

Act as a thought partner to senior leaders on CM Strategy team, facilitating trade-offs, prioritization, and critical decisions through rigorous research, analysis, and insight

Support the annual strategic development process, business portfolio review, Operating Committee meetings, and senior leader offsites and events to articulate and advance Capital Market’s strategy

Develop high-impact materials for RBC CM Executives and RBC Board of Directors

What do you need to succeed?

2+ years’ experience in Capital Markets, Management Consulting, Financial Services, or Corporate Strategy

Demonstrated ability to solve complex strategy problems end-to-end, working through ambiguous situations while driving to clarity and delivering high-impact results

High degree of numeracy and comfort with financial analysis; advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and business modelling experience

Experience synthesizing complex data from multiple sources into clear, articulate analyses and presentations

Experience in preparing materials and presentations for executive audiences with a high attention to detail

History of making an impact, scoping, developing and implementing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Self-starter with natural curiosity around client insights and competitor strategies

Excellent collaborator with the ability to develop strong relationships at every level of the organization

Ability to effectively manage competing timelines and priorities for multiple teams across global time zones

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$90,000.00 - $135,000.00
