Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior  Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer (Hydraulic System, Actuation & Control) to join our 787 Mechanical Systems Design Engineering team in North Charleston, South Carolina.

The Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer will support the development and documentation of mechanical, fluid, and thermal environment for the Hydraulics and Flight Control components/assemblies for the 787 Program. This role will support Install & Integration of our 787 Hydraulic and Flight Controls Sustaining SOW.

 

Position Responsibilities:

Developing and maintaining mechanical systems detail, product detail, assembly, and installation designs (e.g., hydraulic tubing, transport element routing and geometry).

Assisting with engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, and shop revision requests).

Follow documented processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of mechanical, fluid, and thermal environment.

Collecting data to support the development of statements of work.

Reviewing functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture.

Assist in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems.

Supporting the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers.

Perform spatial integration at system or component level.

Assist in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts.

Works under general supervision.

This position is for first shift.

 

This position is 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, i.e., Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace engineering.

2+ years of professional experience working in an engineering field

2+ years of experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools

2+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams

 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

3+ years of experience in aerospace related role

5+ years of experience working in CATIA V5 & ENOVIA toolsets

5+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, procedures, and specifications

5+ years of experience in a mechanical system, hydraulic fluid system, and/or environmental controls systems engineering roles

2+ years of demonstrated project management skills

Ability to travel domestically and internationally 10%

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Associate Level: $85,000 - $115,000

Mid-Level: $103,700 - $140,300

Senior Level: $126,650 - $171,350
