As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks qualified applicants for the full-time position of Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. Primary responsibilities will include overseeing the recruitment of and development of student-athletes, in particular the leading of goalkeeper-specific training and development. Assist in leading practices, attend games, and are other notable duties, as needed, including being the lead coach for Developmental Team matches. The successful candidate will be the lead assistant for the Women’s Soccer Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Actively engages the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan Intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services. Ensure compliance with NAIA recruiting rules and regulations Initiate the process for determining academic eligibility with Women’s Soccer athletes by department and PLAYNAIA standards Schedule and conduct regular practice sessions in and out of season while complying with relevant NAIA rules and regulations Oversee conditioning and training of team members in conjunction with Head Athletic Trainer to fully prepare students for competitions Enforce university and NAIA policies and procedures Recommend improvements and modifications to the program Promote academic progress of students through both grades and attendance Develop a competitive event schedule, in conjunction with the Athletic Director and Head Women’s Soccer Coach that fits travel budget as well as Marian and NAIA rules and regulations Oversee selection, purchase, fitting, and maintenance of equipment Conduct fundraising activities and assists with approved fundraising activities as requested Help with day-to-day operations of film, session planning, player meetings as requested Promote the philosophy and values of the Athletic Program and Marian University Other responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree Prior Coaching experience: Goalkeeper Coaching experience preferred Demonstrated knowledge of rules and regulations governing recruitment, eligibility, and related functions
