**Purpose of the role**
Provide full Payroll support to the local Payroll Lead on all employee lifecycle processes, including but not limited to, on-boarding, off-boarding, internal transfers and various parental leaves.
Ensure high quality day-to-day payroll service, support the delivery of smooth monthly and annual payroll processes, as part of an integrated payroll team for MUFG and effectively deputise for the Payroll Lead.
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Work to identify opportunities to align and streamline processes across MUFG to support the integration of the HR teams, operations team and wider HR function.
+ Responsible for maintaining and developing procedures to ensure alignment with HR policies and local legislation
+ Drive and support change
+ Constantly looking for improvements in processes and identify control deficiencies.
+ Demonstrate Risk Awareness within local and wider HR team.
+ Demonstrate awareness of how Payroll connects with other areas of the HR Team and wider MUFG business.
+ Adopt a client centric approach to decision making using operational knowledge to support effective outcomes.
+ Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders both with Bank and externally. Patner AskHR and be the Tier 2 support for employee compensation and benefit queries.
+ Establish and maintain relationships with external suppliers/vendors to ensure high quality of service is provided.
+ Work closely with the HR Central Services and Global Mobility teams to coordinate the timely processing of payroll changes.
+ Work closely with the benefits team to reconcile monthly benefits against payroll.
+ Work closely with the HR business partner in executing payroll changes.
+ Work in partnership with Financial Accounting Department to ensure smooth processing and deliverance in payments and reporting.
+ Engage and collaborate with Systems Department to develop automated solutions.
+ Act as a Senior Payroll Team member across payroll providing support to the Payroll Team and Payroll Lead.
+ Work with the Payroll lead in delivering payroll related changes to colleagues.
+ Share knowledge in support of a successful payroll team.
+ Support, coach and guide team on complex issues. Handle day to day queries / issues and escalate complex issues to ensure resolution and closure.
+ Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders both with Bank and externally. Partner AskHR and be the Tier 2 support for employee queries and request.
+ Establish and maintain relationships with external suppliers/vendors to ensure high quality of service is provided.
+ Work in partnership with Financial Accounting Department to ensure smooth processing and deliverance in payments and reporting.
+ Engage and collaborate with Systems Department to develop automated solutions in compensation and benefits.
+ Demonstrate understanding of government regulatories and company payroll policies and procedures and apply this on a day to day basis.
+ Understanding data and frequency of the feeds that is being fed into payroll from HR/Benefits.
+ Ensure all payments including but not limited to salary, claims, reimbursements, benefits and allowances are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
+ Review payments in line with eligibility rules and the Bank’s policies. Ensure that exceptions are identified, reviewed and approved by other relevant departments.
+ Manage the Payroll shared mailbox ensuring emails are being responded to in a timely manner whilst maintaining a high standard / quality of response.
+ Review all reporting for staff related matters for submission to various parties including but not limited to business units, management, head office and regulatory bodies.
+ Providing support for staff’s income tax returns with regulatory bodies.
+ Ensure that costing including but not limited to manpower, pension, levies and benefits is executed accurately.
+ Support various internal and external audits
**Job Requirements:**
+ Degree in Accounting or Business or equivalent work experience equally preferable
+ A minimum of 3 years payroll experience working in a fast-paced environment, ideally within the Financial Services
+ Knowledge in PayMaster and Workday is an added advantage
+ Possesses hands-on supervisory experience
+ Proficiency with the payroll process
+ Comprehensive understanding of payroll rules, payroll legislation, taxes and reporting
+ Extensive knowledge of accounting and preparation of individual income tax returns
+ Communicates effectively
