Role: Assistant Technical ManagerLocation: Chennai – Tambaram

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Facility Manager (AFM) to support facilities operations for one of our leading IT clients in Chennai (Tambaram).

Key ResponsibilitiesFacilities OperationsSupport day‑to‑day operations of the facility, ensuring seamless functioning of all services.Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities across all building systems.Monitor performance of FM staff, vendors, and technicians to ensure service excellence.Conduct regular facility inspections and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.Technical & High‑Side Equipment ManagementManage and monitor high‑side equipment, including:HVAC chillers & AHUsDG setsTransformers & HT/LT panelsUPS systemsFire alarm & fire‑fighting systemsWater treatment plants & pumpsCoordinate with OEM/vendors for equipment servicing, AMC management, and emergency repairs.Maintain dashboards, logs, and performance reports for critical equipment.Client & Stakeholder ManagementServe as the first point of contact for client escalations and daily coordination.Provide timely updates, reports, and recommendations to the client and JLL leadership.Ensure delivery of SLAs & KPIs as per contractual requirements.Vendor & Compliance ManagementSupervise vendor activities and ensure adherence to JLL and client standards.Ensure statutory compliance related to facility operations, safety, and environment.Support audits, incident investigations, and risk mitigation initiatives.Financial & Administrative SupportAssist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and monthly facility MIS.Monitor material consumption, utility usage, and cost‑saving initiatives.Verify vendor bills and support procurement of FM consumables and services.Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong understanding of large IT/Commercial facility operations.Sound technical knowledge of high‑side building equipment.Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.Ability to respond effectively during emergencies or critical equipment failures.Proficiency in MS Office, CAFM tools, and maintenance management systems.Qualifications & ExperienceDiploma/Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering preferred.4–7 years of experience in Facilities Management, preferably within IT parks or large commercial campuses.What We Can Do for You
