Position Overview:

The Assistant Technical Designer is responsible for the garment technical development process from style adoption to production in a for 1-2 categories.

Performance requirements

Lead fit sessions, analyze fit and accurately communicate corrections of assigned product areas, with support of manager.

Collaborate with Vendor Tech Designers in virtual fitting environment. Ability to critically assess fit, pattern balance, and construction performance remotely, with support of manager.

Establish, monitor, and maintain: Block development, grading, and construction/workmanship standards for your product categories to ensure consistency across all vendor and factory bases.

Provide technical expertise and support to cross functional teams on fit development and pre-production activities.

Maintain fit sample library throughout season and facilitate sample purge at season’s end.

Support Technical Designers in daily workflow on an as-needed basis including, but not limited to: sample tracking, sample measuring, digital images.

Competitive shop the market researching size, fit, construction techniques, and labeling.

Work Experience and education requirements

Education:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent business experience in related area

Experience:

1-3+ years experience in technical design or manufacturing experience

Skills:

Basic understanding of pattern making/grading and how fabrics/trims affect the fit of the garmentDeveloping critical eye for garment fit and necessary corrections, ability to establish and reinforce brand aesthetic with internal/external counterpartsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPossess strong written and verbal communication and critical thinking skillsBasic skills in Web PDM or similar product management system, clear understanding of Adobe Illustrator drawing tool and Microsoft office software

Pay Range:

Annual Salary: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00
