Position Title: Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Salary/Pay Scale: Competitive and commensurate with experience Requirements: Required Qualifications: •Demonstrated leadership experience in human resources, labor relations, or school administration •Extensive knowledge of New York State Education Law, Civil Service Law, and public sector labor relations •Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications: •Experience in collective bargaining within a public school district •Experience with employee investigations and grievance procedures •Experience working in a unionized public-sector environment •Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships with diverse stakeholder groups Candidates must meet one of the following: 1.New York State School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) certification OR 2.Eligible for civil service appointment as appropriate with substantial experience in school law, labor relations, and public sector employment law Description: Start Date: On or about July 1, 2026 (or as mutually agreed upon) Contract: 12-month administrative position About the District: The Churchville-Chili Central School District is a high-performing, student-centered public school district located in Monroe County, New York. The district serves approximately 3800 students across five school buildings, has a dedicated staff of approximately 800 employees and is committed to academic excellence, operational efficiency, and a collaborative culture that supports students, staff, and families. Position Overview: The Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources serves as a key member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet and provides strategic leadership in all aspects of human capital management. The successful candidate will oversee recruitment, hiring, labor relations, employee engagement, compliance, policy implementation, and organizational development to ensure the district attracts, develops, and retains exceptional staff. This position requires a leader who is highly ethical, knowledgeable in New York State Education Law and Civil Service Law, skilled in negotiations, and committed to fostering a positive and professional workplace culture. Primary Responsibilities: + Lead and oversee all human resources operations for the district + Serve as chief negotiator or co-negotiator in collective bargaining with employee unions + Administer collective bargaining agreements and support effective labor-management relations + Oversee recruitment, onboarding, evaluation and retention + Ensure compliance with New York State Education Law, Civil Service Law, Title IX, ADA, FMLA, and other applicable state and federal regulations + Serve as District’s Dignity for All Students Coordinator and Workplace Violence Prevention Coordinator + Supervise personnel functions including certification, tenure, disciplinary processes and employee investigations + Collaborate with administrators to support staff performance and professional growth + Oversee civil service appointments and work closely with Monroe County Civil Service + Develop and implement HR policies and procedures + Promote a culture of equity, professionalism, and continuous improvement + Advise the Superintendent and Board of Education on personnel matters Application Procedure: Apply online only and include the following application materials: •Job application •Letter of interest •Resume •Three letters of reference •Copy of NYS certification(s)
